Foster (Longbottom) Census Details 1841-1901
The starting point here was surname Foster and father James Foster obtained from William and Susy Longbottom's marriage license.
There is some confusion for 1851 where lots of Fosters appear to be living in a communal house.
Looking at Foster 1881 details, there is an Alice Drake step daughter. Then, in 1881, there is a Sarah Boulton - see Bolton/Drake below.
All typewritten details are in
Foster Text Records.
Bolton/Drake (Longbottom) Census Details 1841-1901
James/Elizabeth Foster’s marriage was searched for, suggesting Elizabeth Bolton. Census details then indicated complex relationships between Boltons and Drakes (see Foster for Drake and Boulton references). A John Drake/Sally Bolton record was found for marriage in 1847. It looks as though Elizabeth and Sarah (8 in 1851) were born before marriage, and Sarah’s (Sally's) father lived with the Drakes in 1851. After 1847, there are also the mysteries of Alice Bolton/Drake and Sarah Boulton whose mother is probably Elizabeth and they were born before marriage to James Foster.
Census and birth/marriage details are in
Bolton/Drake Text Records.
The details identify possible license Date/District/Volume/Page references. Copies of the licences should help to solve the ancestry riddles.
West (Longbottom) Census Details 1841-1901
The starting point of the West ancestry was father William from John and Mary Longbottom's marriage license, 31 October 1852.
All typewritten details are in
West Text Records.
Ibbotson (Longbottom)
Using
FamilySearch
for marriage of Joseph Longbottom indicated spouse Sarah Ibbetson and date 4 April 1831. See
Ibbotson Text Records.
For reference to all of the above, also see the
