Gumersell Census Details 1841-1911
The starting point was in the 1901 Census with Dot’s mother Elsie, born in March 1901, with known older brother Bill. On Dot’s birth certificate, Elsie is listed as a Gumersell, but numerous variations of this appear in Census details and birth, marriage and death registrations
(See
handwritten samples). Most entries had to be identified by using wildcards, such as searching for GOM or GUM.
All typewritten details are in
Gumersell Text Records

Other Spouses.
The later 1911 Census includes Elsie’s brother Jack and sister Lily.
For Martha Alice Gommersall (1901) ancestry see
Bower entries. This name was identified from birth records of Elsie’s sister Mary, born in 1914, and confirmed by Martha and John 1898 marriage records.
